A Farewell to False Love

Farewell false love, the oracle of lies,
A mortal foe and enemy to rest,
An envious boy, from whom all cares arise,
A bastard vile, a beast with rage possessed,
A way of error, a temple full of treason,
In all effects contrary unto reason.

A poisoned serpent covered all with flowers,
Mother of sighs, and murderer of repose,
A sea of sorrows whence are drawn such showers
As moisture lend to every grief that grows;
A school of guile, a net of deep deceit,
A gilded hook that holds a poisoned bait.

A fortress foiled, which reason did defend,
A siren song, a fever of the mind,
A maze wherein affection finds no end,
A raging cloud that runs before the wind,
A substance like the shadow of the sun,
A goal of grief for which the wisest run.

A quenchless fire, a nurse of trembling fear,
A path that leads to peril and mishap,
A true retreat of sorrow and despair,
An idle boy that sleeps in pleasure's lap,
A deep mistrust of that which certain seems,
A hope of that which reason doubtful deems.

Sith* then thy trains my younger years betrayed, [since]
And for my faith ingratitude I find;
And sith repentance hath my wrongs bewrayed*, [revealed]
Whose course was ever contrary to kind*: [nature]
False love, desire, and beauty frail, adieu.
Dead is the root whence all these fancies grew.

Scarred People are Beautiful

Man Speaks:
I’ve seen a number of movies lately, Lord.
Like Romeo and Juliet.
The love of young people, at least in some movies,
Is beautiful…
So simple… so total… so uncomplicated.
They seem so natural
So free in their emotions, so clear in feelings.
I wish I could be like that, Lord
But I can’t be.
Why is this so?

I’ve been hurt, lord.
I have trusted and been betrayed at times.
I have loved and received nothing in return.
I have tried hard to care and failed often.
I have shared my secrets and heard them whispered to others.
I have been warn and received a cold shoulder.

I have been through it, Lord
I’ve fallen in face.
I’ve banged my shins.
I’ve been bruised.
Look, Lord. I am all covered with scars!

The Lord speaks:
Maybe you haven’t understood enough:
Maybe you haven’t learned that human life is like that:
All saints are scared.
Young love is not the highest form of love.
The greatest love comes from scarred people.
I know that many people stop loving so they won’t be hurt again.
But those people who do start all over again,
Who continue in spite of all,
Who leave themselves open, to the possibility of being hurt again,
These people are able to love again in a deeper way,
A more understanding way, a richer way.

Man’s response:
I think I know what you mean, Lord.
I have met people like that…
And knowing them gives me courage,
The greatest people are those who continue to love with their scars.
I LIKE SCARRED PEOPLE, LORD.
THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL! =)

My Personal view in Learning Community

Jhim Rose Patrimonio BEED-SpED 2x4

Essay Writing: My Personal view in Learning Community Mr. Enrique Guevara

Introduction

We don't live in a vacuum. We live in a society. We are part of society. Our society influences us to the extent that we allow ourselves to be influenced by it. Our thoughts, values, and actions are somehow shaped by events and by people with whom we come in contact. We, in turn, help shape society – its events, its people, and its destiny.

“The ability to learn is the most significant activity of a man” by anonymous. Learning is to knowledge or skills by study (Webster’s New Pocket Dictionary). It is a lifelong process. From the day we were born, our learning also spring forth. Every second we take into our lives, learning is always there. It grows with us. We learned new things every day in our lives. It is a part of us and we cannot be totally human without it. It enables us to establish decisions and form the right choice.

“A healthy social life is found only, when in the mirror of each soul the whole community finds its reflection, and when in the whole community the virtue of each one is living” by Rudolf Steiner quotes. Community is a body of people living in the same place (Webster New Dictionary). As a social being, we cannot live alone. We need people that would help us in everyday living. We need companion in order for us to live meaningfully in the place were we belong, the place we are currently living, the world. As a living organism, we are opt to interact with each other, we are opt to share ideas and beliefs to the person nearby, the people in the community. We tend to have interaction through communication in order for us to understand each other and anticipate each individuals need.

"We use the term community centered to refer to several aspects of community, including the classroom as a community, the school as a community, and the degree to which students, teachers, and administrators feel connected to the larger community of homes, businesses, states, the nation, and even the world."(How People Learn: Brain, Mind, Experience, and School; Bransford, Brown, & Cocking (Eds.), 2000, pp.144-145). Learning community is the mainspring of effective and powerful forces that can create a wholesome climate for mutual gains and betterment. It is willing to share information as well as responsibility to the best interest of a learner while in school, likewise when dealing with members in the community. A learning community is any one of a variety of curricular structures that link together several existing courses - or actually restructure the curricular material entirely – so that students have opportunities for deeper understanding of an integration of the material they are learning, and more interaction with one another and their teachers as fellow participants in the learning enterprise. (Gabelnick, Macgregor, Matthews & Smith, 1990, p.19). John Donne said in his song “No Man Is an Island”... “No man stands alone...We need one another”... In the context in the life of a teacher, I would say, “No teacher is an island. No teacher stands alone”. Indeed, as a Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Special Education students, we cannot be a teacher alone. We need people to accompany us in going along with the said profession we are currently into as of this point in time. I think of all those people who are helping me now to achieve my dreams in life, to become a teacher in the near future. In fact, soon I will be called “Teacher” in relation to a student, in the same manner that my student will be called “Student” in relation to me as a teacher.

Conclusion:

I therefore conclude that education is very much important in one’s life. Education is not just a must but a necessity as instead. As a student, I am task to exert more efforts in studying me lessons well at this point in time. I must grab this big opportunity that God our father had given me. I am liable also to share my knowledge and ideas to others in order for them to get things well. It is really true that no man is an island. That none of us can live and stands alone. We must have companion. As an individual, we need to be vigilant in our community. We need to share ideas to others and get new ideas from others. It is important for us to deal with other people especially to our community in order for us to have further knowledge and enhance our learning skills.

Use of innovative technologies on an e-learning course

...Innovation is a change in the thought process for doing something or "new stuff that is made useful. For me, it is very much significant the use of innovative technologies on an e-learning course. Because now a days technology is fast evolving. We are getting high-tech each day. Different technologies are arising gradually. So in order for us to get in, we need to be updated.

DEFINING LEARNING COMMUNITIES

~~phew! that was awesome...^_^ ehehe, im having epistaxis upon reading it.. well anyways, as what i have understood, learning community is a two way process. because obviously it talks about community and to the learner as well with regards to learning. It adresses a group of people in a community. Different ideas from different authors summed up the exact point in defining Learning communities.
..to strike a balance between individuality and social connectedness. I'm struck with this line, It's like the saying no man is an island. In connection to that saying, learning process could not take place without community or people that would help learning process successful. What you have seen in the community may it be negative or positive, for as long as you have learned something, that's learning indeed.
